Overall, this is a really good deal and something people should consider if they want an office PC. I definitely think this is better than those chinese miniPCs. For one, the driver-support with these devices can be minimal and that creates a bunch of issues if you are installing linux or reinstalling windows. Secondly, these companies occationally include software that sends telemetry data (although... windows 11 does that by default also). So I would never use one of those products without wiping everything completely.
Now.... HP build quality is meh. But again, it would be cheaper to buy this again ---if it broke--- then buying a comparable lenova product or something else. And you could actually make this a casual-gaming machine by adding a graphic card and another stick of RAM (It would probably more than double the price... but it's not like the machine would suck.).

As long as I get a working undamaged new PC it's pointless to ask a bunch of questions no one can answer. If I don't get a working undamaged new PC I simply return it for 100% of what I spent refunded to me. With an original MSRP of $499, this is way less than half and arguably the best deal currently possible on a 14th gen DDR5 profile desktop. I'll remind you that it went Frontpage the last time posted at this price.

Often it is the wrong language manual, or some state (or country) specific labeling. Then the box is sent back through the taper and re-sold to a discount warehouse or sold as refurbished even though the item has never been technically used.
Extremely common in electronics and home tech/small appliance mfg.

Than you may be able to sell the rest locally for a few bucks and break even on the 2nd machine, making the extra 8 gb of ram free.

I bought a HP M01, (which is bigger,) for $152 and have sucessfully upgraded it to be a light gaming machine. I paid $60 for 32GB ram (before the ram crysis,) and another $50 for a 400w PSU. My final upgrade is a RTX3060 12GB, which only just fits in the case and set me back $209. I know I'm not comparing apples for apples as my machine is AM4/DDR4 based.
On this machine however, the case isn't big enough for a regular GPU, and that's before all the hassle of getting ram to work at the correct speeds due to no XMP in the bios etc. It's just best to leave this machine as an office PC.
