I previously tried a 1/2-inch hose, and it was only 75 feet and not 100 feet away from the source like this one could be, and was very disappointed with the water pressure.
I'd recommend no less than a 5/8-inch hose, and 3/4 is preferable for many situations. I'm sure some folks would be perfectly happy with the performance of 1/2-inch hose, just not right for my use case.
I'd pass on this particular reel. I think there's a reason it's marked down while the 5/8x90 sister hose on the same product page is still full price.

Does this price make anyone feel better about the longevity concerns? I've been shopping for one for a while, but looking for one that is in between all metal ($$$) and all plastic (fragile).

I've had a couple of these fail and not retract. Great idea but do seem to have longevity problems.

Another thing for people to consider is what size piping is supplying their spigot. I have 1/2" pex ran to all of mine so I'm already restricted to 1/2". Anything larger wouldn't make a difference. I wish they would've put in 3/4" when the house was built.

I have the 5/8 version of this and I'd say I'll get one more season out of it (5 years total). The mechanical rewind system has been flawless, but the swivel hinge is sagging and likely to break. I'd love to replace the shell and swivel mount with metal.

At this price is worth buying. I have my for 3 years now but leaving it out to the elements make it look like it is 10 years old. The sprinkler already broke after 1 year. I am indifferent on the pressure as i am mostly watering plants.

Had one and the hose cracked at the sprayer nozzle. I cut it and fix it. Then while in process to get it fixed under warranty it started to leak water internally so they replace it. All this within 6 months. Then something happen to the spring that retracts the hose back in and i open it and all parts are made of plastic. This was for the 65' x 5/8 (but the hose is not 5/8 it looks like 1/2 and not a lot of water pressure coming out) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0791Y79WQ
then the replacement looks like still working a year later.

I bought a giraffe house last year. Solidly rubber. The fittings however were cheap plastic and lasted only weeks.

Seeing a lot of negative comments so I figured I'd throw in my experience. I have this for 3 years now. I take it off every winter and store it until spring. It still looks and functions like new. It is wonderful to use and meets my needs for watering plants by hand. Would gladly buy another.
