After seeing the (very recent) prudent reviews, seems like there's other better options, because of the issues around cleaning and some consistency issues

Not the greatest one but definitely the cheapest made in Japan one. May be tricky to clean due to the lid structure. I personally prefer ones with removable lid-covers.

Also interesting in knowing. I was about to buy it in store last week but decided to hold off to see if it would go on sale. I do know that before this discount it was the same price in store at my Costco and online so my guess is that it's still the same

You can check warehouse prices in the Costco app. It's the same $79.99

It's the same low-tech rice cooker for years yet the price has gone up.

Thanks tariffs.

In northern Virginia, it's the same price in the warehouse.

This one is trash. After a few months, the rice will get soggy after cooking. It will start smelling due to the lid retaining moisture and being hard to clean. You won't be able to leave your rice in the cooker for more than a few hours after cooking or else it will start to smell also.

I would stay away from this brand and model.

Bought it, hate it. We replaced an ancient simple toggle-on unit that became a fire hazard. Think I'd rather have the fire hazard.

I found the manual lever model Tiger at the local asian market, for more than twice the price of this!
