This Yxk 15.6 inch portable monitor is mainly appealing as a cheap travel or second screen with decent picture quality and a built in kickstand. It works over USB C DisplayPort Alt Mode or HDMI, and the low power draw makes it handy for laptops, iPads, Raspberry Pi setups, and camera monitors. The main tradeoffs are a dim 250 nit panel, only 72 percent sRGB, no VESA mount, and no case or audio jack on some units. It feels like a practical budget pick if you can live with modest brightness and color.
people using a portable second screen for an iPad Pro because it's been reported as working well as a second display with decent picture quality for the price (and users note you can add a cheap case if you want one).
travelers and remote workers who want a lightweight extra display because multiple commenters say these portable monitors are "amazing for travel and remote work," with one user also reporting months of daily hours of use.
buyers who don't need ultra-bright or color-accurate output because commenters say it's a good deal if you don't need super color accuracy or ultra brightness (and they still find it acceptable around ~$40).
Raspberry Pi / RetroPie owners who want a small on-the-go gaming setup because one commenter specifically said they might use it with their Raspberry Pi RetroPie setup for gaming while traveling.
surveillance camera system owners who need a low-power monitor because a user reported using a similar portable monitor for a year as a surveillance monitor with very low power consumption.
people who need a VESA-mount portable monitor because this model doesn't have VESA mount support (unlike a refurbished Acer alternative mentioned in the thread).
buyers who want a long service life because at least one commenter says these portable monitors tend to fail and should be treated as disposable (with a max around ~18 months if used regularly).
people who specifically need a sturdy cover-stand design because one user disliked a similar portable monitor where the cover-as-stand wasn't sturdy and kept sliding/dropping, preferring the built-in stand on this model instead.
It is rated around 250 nits, which is relatively dim for a monitor. It is usable for the price, but it can look washed out and is not ideal if you want strong brightness or color accuracy.
No drivers are required for basic display output. HDMI and similar video connections are standardized, so it should work with any operating system; only extra features like touch would need drivers.
Yes. It supports USB 3.1 Type-C DisplayPort Alt Mode, so a compatible USB-C cable and a device like iPhone 15 or newer can drive it directly. In that mode, it can also drain the phone battery.
Superb deal. Picked this up for $45 last year and it's worked a charm, decent picture quality for the price and currently my second screen for my iPad Pro (with a TB5 cable).
Only negative is it comes with no case, but you can pick one up for less than $15 on Amazon.
This monitor supports USB 3.1 Type C Display Alt mode. IPhone 15 and newer model support this. Make sure you have USB C cable that supports Dis Alt. The monitor will drain the phone battery in this mode.

I purchased this in 2024 for $50 and think this is a good deal, especially if you don't need a super color accurate or ultra bright monitor. Just pick up a cheap case and you're good to go.
This kind of portable are one and the same, so just get the cheapest one, of which this is a good price. I have one with the cover being dual used as a stand and it was bad. The cover was not sturdy enough and kept sliding and dropped in a sudden. I like the build in stand that comes with this one.
Ordered one too.
Yet another display for my workstation. Raspberry pi gaming seems like a good idea too.
Or maybe I'll teach my nephew how to use Linux with it.
