I've had a small ceramic box opener (super-cheap) for 5-6 years already and it's as good as brand new!
You could make an argument that loose single edge razor blades are harder to have an accident with (and sticking them to magnets makes them unloose.)
You can absolutely buy a non-disposable 18mm holder and standard thickness 18mm blades ... but I already have Stanley 99s and 199s for those prices. These are perfect for tying on a loop and hanging anywhere you might want to ... cut a package. Fiddling with the lock is the slightest bit more time-consuming than extending (or unfolding) a utility knife.
I paid $10.06 . When you open the box, every knife will be unlocked with a tiny bit of blade exposed.
I've had a small ceramic box opener (super-cheap) for 5-6 years already and it's as good as brand new!
