I did a bunch of research and personally went with the oupes kit that's on sale there now for $1099 that includes 2 solar panels. Probably even less expensive if you go with just the battery and get third party panels.

Oupes seems to be fairly easy to expand. There is so much information out there and so many companies do this. I had no idea the market was so saturated

This is where I am out now. it seems like there is so much out there and I haven't really heard of Pecron or Oupes until slickdeals. Trying to figure it all out really.

A regulation is needed that requires clear use cases to be included in descriptions of battery backups and the like. "Unit can run a cap opener... Unit can run a fan.... Unit can run a refrigerator... Unit can power a home..." I know, everything is use case but we have labeling for everything else with standard metrics.. For this item in particular, it is a great price. We've had a Pecron for camping for a little over a year now with no issues.

If you scroll down the product page it lists a few run times for some weird items, jackhammer, drill chainsaw, ect.

This from CNET about a smaller model.
Pecron E2000LFP (1,920Wh): I discussed this unit briefly earlier as the runner up to the Delta Mini in the "best portable power station for camping" race. It has more options than the ecoflow Mini and is suitably priced. I'm also a fan of any of the companies that adopt the modular approach with the capability to expand capacity with external batteries like Pecron has done. You can also pick up a rolling caddy for the unit if you're on the go.

The Oupes 2400 which is the one I assume your talking about because its by far the best deal on SD right now. (amazing deal actually!) And if my assumption is right, that model is not expandable at all. You can always jerry rig higher voltage (48v is the best) external batteries to expand capacity to any solar power station, but doing that has some substantial limitations. Mainly it won't be 2 way meaning no power comes from the main unit to the battery, meaning you'll have to charge it separately with its own designated charger, like you'd have to do with any regular type 48v battery and by the way, a good 48v battery charger isn't cheap. Also unless it has it's own shunt or digital monitor, it's a pain in the butt to check it's state of charge (SOC) at any given time. Now, this pecron is not only expandable with its very fairly priced own branded expansion batteries, it's also can be easily expanded with cheaper 48v third party battery and what makes it different than adding a 48v battery to any regular power station, it's easily hacked to go through it's official expansion port meaning it will work flawlessly the same as their own branded expansion battery would. Meaning it does work 2 way and will charge and discharge as you charge and discharge the main unit. Super cool. I actually own both the Exodus 2400 and the Pecron F3000LFP. I think they are both good units, they are just different. This particular pecron might be the easiest on the market to expand to higher capacity, because you have more than 1 option to choose from when you want to expand.

I have a older smaller Pecrone, the AC charging brick stop charging after about a year.. I have to use the super slow 12V charging port now... bummer

they say over 12 months, no warranty.. I am not sure if it is their propiarty port broke or the AC brick, too bad they don't use the universal port back then, if I ship the 20lbs unit back and forth I have to pay for everything

I bought a pecron e1000 for 319 its decent cant run a table saw this would run way more the price per kilowatt is cheàp i almost bought the exodus 2400 at 429 before tax cause thats a great deal

Pecrons have no time of use or peak shaving capabilities. Only way is to use a dummy power switch but then you might run out of battery. Unlike power stations with TOU/peak shaving modes where when it drain the battery but then connect back to the grid automatically if you run out of juice.
