This Lenovo Legion 5i stands out as a high refresh OLED gaming laptop with strong performance and a gorgeous screen. The RTX 5070 and Ultra 7 255HX should handle games well, and the 1TB storage is a nice step up from cheaper Lenovo deals. The main drawback is the 16GB memory configuration, which feels light at this price, though it is a single stick with two slots and room for a second NVMe, so upgrading is straightforward. A solid option if you value the display and GPU more than out of the box memory.
people who want a gaming laptop with a gorgeous OLED screen and plan to play games right away because the screen is described as "gorgeous" and it "runs any game I throw at it."
buyers who are comfortable upgrading RAM/SSD after purchase because one commenter says they added a 16GB RAM stick and a 1TB SSD for $50 each and advises using the upgrade options to reach 32GB to avoid regret.
tab-hoarders who still want to buy with 16GB as long as they're okay with the idea that it may be enough for their workflow because one user says they "tab hoard" and "have never run out of RAM" on their 16GB Zephyrus G14 and expects this 16GB Legion to be plenty for their uses.
productivity-focused buyers who don't care as much about the top-end GPU because one commenter says they mainly use it for productivity, so the "better GPU isn't a priority" for them.
people who want an easy path to higher memory because the laptop is described as fully upgradeable with the default 16GB being a single stick (not soldered) and "super easy to work on" with room for a second NVMe.
buyers who expect the advertised configuration to be "enough" without paying for upgrades because multiple commenters criticize that it "only put 16 GB in this" and argue the deal is effectively cheaping out on RAM.
heavy multitaskers who routinely run around 100 Chrome tabs because a commenter says their 16GB laptop "does not like this" and that a 32GB laptop "has no problem," calling the RAM a weak point given the strong specs.
people who are unlucky with hardware stability because one commenter reports random blue screen crashes even after a replacement and says they will not buy another Legion.
buyers who want the best value versus nearby Lenovo options because one commenter says this is $300 more than another Lenovo deal and claims the only difference is the GPU (with the same VRAM), urging a price comparison.

Ideally a 12GB VRAM like the 5070ti should have been standard on these mobile cards starting with the 5060 and up imo. The memory upgrade for this laptop to 32GB should run about $150 in the current economy, while a 5070ti upgrade runs about $400 for the next model up. Quick research shows it has 2 slots and the 16gb should be a single stick.
The 5060 deal might be the better choice for many as its $300 cheaper, has a 8gb 5060, 16gb like this one but only a 512gb nvme.
Now take note I say "October", so after purchasing the laptop I bought another 16gb stick of ram and 1tb SSD for $50 each, lol. You won't ever see those prices again so just be careful. If the site has some upgrade options I would shell out for the 32. You'll have severe buyers remorse otherwise.
