This is honestly the best robot vacuum I've used on carpet, period. It's not smart at all..no lidar, and it really needs the light on to work right in low light environments but the cleaning power is great for carpet. It pulled way more dirt and hair out of my carpet than my Roborock ever did. I pretty much only use it on carpet now because that's where it actually performs, but it's definitely not an all in one solution for all floors. Dyson's discontinuing this model anyway and partnering with a big robot vacuum company for the next version, which looks more like the typical stuff out there..I hear it's not as good in a lot of ways, such as on carpets. For $280 though, if your main goal is just cleaning carpet that normal robot vacuums struggle with, it's worth it. Oh, I wouldn't expect this to get any major software updates in the future either. Come to think of it, I'm not even sure about parts..we'll see.

One big win imo is that this uses a re-usable HEPA filter, which you can easily wash in your sink. No need to purchase replacement filters for the dustin bin and what not. That's awesome in my experience.

Terrible if you have hardwood floors or a mix. But it's superior if you have carpets and don't mind this thing being dumber than a squirrel.

Looking at reviews this is way over priced for what it does, can get a ihome for under $300 and it will do way more than this or spend $500 and get the latest and greatest tech with Yeedi brand.

Seems a little lacking in the current robot vacuum world. I admit, I have 90% hardwoods so not really geared to me.

Seems like average price for a no lidar unit.

Which roborock, like a Q5+? Based on rtings, this is complete ass https://www.rtings.com/robot-vacu...60-vis-nav

$300 for a dumb robot with no autodock in this day and age is insane, especially with that performance score. You can get a Q Revo with autodock refurbed for like $300 which beats this in vacuuming even though the Revo series excel at mopping.

Based on the 3 star reviews on poor software and poor hardware, I say hard skip on this device...

edit: I looked at the Q5+ on rtings and chose it because it's a relatively old model that is in roborock's budget line and it absolutely destroys this on objective hardware score and not even talking about software where Roborock shines over a lot of competitors

Check out JustADad's latest video on it on YouTube - it'll help show what I am trying to explain. The amount this can pull out of carpets is night and day compared to any other robot vacuum - I have a Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and EcoVacs T20 Omni that can't compete. Everything else you said is truth though. Dyson couldn't justify their asking price on this when it came out.
