These are great for searing and frying. Stuff like sous vide steak, you can crank it up to max and get a golden-brown sear in 20 seconds per side on a cast iron pan.

150,000 BTU is approximately 7.5pounds of propane per hour. 2 hours on 20lb exchange(usually filled to 15lbs)

If anyone is taking advantage of things that utilize 150,000 btu, they won't be cooking long. 2 hours and 40 minutes out of a 20lbs. tank is an aweful lot of steak and stirfrys.

Definitely a hell of a lot better than a typical 15K burner, but a good wok burner will put that 150K btu into one single burner. This mid power burner would probably be great for a cast iron wok.

edited: this burner does in fact look good for wok high heat cooking. I personally prefer ones with a rounded burner for the wok like the cuisinart outdoor wok burner
