I'd much rather get the kit that comes with the 845 and 2 4ah batteries than this. In fact that's exactly what I got exact it came with a free tool at the time. The drill is already heavy. I'm not sure why they paired it with this battery in a kit.

Yeah I bought this and then returned it for what you suggest for $70 less... much better deal!

I do already have an 8ah power pack though and I really only need the one. The 4ah are awesome!

One thing to note with this, and I don't think it's obvious, is that this drill offers hammer mode ONLY. So you can't use it as a regular drill or driver like most competitor hammer drills.

I don't think that's true according to the manual on Dewalts website. You choose the hammer symbol on the selection collar for hammer. There is a drill symbol for regular use in the collar and torque settings.

Not a deal when you can get a new-ish impact and this for the same or less frequently. This is a bad mama-jama drill but this is not a great price on it by any stretch.

One thing to note, and I guess it's not obvious... but if you don't select the "hammer drill" function then it doesn't hammer drill.

Yup thats what i did and then sold 1007 and 845 separately to score 2 more 4ah powerpacks for like $20 after reselling those. Have the tools i need already. Was definitely an awesome value tho at 220 if you needed the tools
