I have the 180P version of this last time it was on sale here (from wellbots). I returned one because wireless charger wasn't working, they sent me a new one with the same issue. Other than that it's been great for camping and power outages. Bought the AC180P for $489 in dec 2024 which is the more capacity version of the Ac180.
Man i bought this refurbished from their site, and im starting to think these are all not worth it or i just got a crappy unit. This came in looking brand new. It charges fully and everything, but it does not last very long. I used it to power 2 4ft led shop lights in my shed and only gives me a couple hours. I recently connected a small heater to it and it only lasted about 30 mins. All these started at full charge.
I'm on the fence about this unit overall, and I think a lot of it comes down to my use case. That said, it does not give me much confidence as a backup power solution.
I use it very infrequently for shed lighting. Most of the time it sits at the recommended 40–60% state of charge. If a storm is coming, I charge it to 100%. The problem is that the state of charge reporting feels unreliable and requires recalibration multiple times a year.
For example, if I start charging the unit at around 65%, it will jump to 100% within minutes. When I discharge it, it drops quickly to 1% and then continues running at 1% for quite a while. This essentially forces a calibration cycle.
I have seen similar, and in some ways worse, behavior with my smaller EB3A. After fully discharging it, it sometimes reports 100% and refuses to charge. The only workaround is to leave it plugged into AC power with the outputs enabled and wait for parasitic draw to bring it down to 99% so charging is allowed. Even then, it may show 99% and take another two hours to reach 100%.
A quick search shows these state of charge issues are not uncommon with Bluetti products. While I understand that battery backup systems in general can have quirks, other manufacturers seem to handle this better based on what I have read. I probably would not choose Bluetti again in the future.
my ac180 has a problem where i use it as a ups for my receiver and the jolt causes the battery to short. others have had this problem, some faulty wiring on some ac180s that bluetti has attempted to fix by firmware but only if you ask the right people...(via their forums). just fyi
I don't have this but 3 Elite 100V2 and it's cheaper, almost same specs, more surge and way lighter.
Agreed. It's also half the response time for the UPS functionality, putting it much more in line with standard home UPS systems. 20ms is barely usable for a lot of semi-sensitive equipment.

I have the same problem with my unit. It's a hard failure too. It stops providing power altogether and must be reset manually at the device. Completely worthless.

I wouldn't think LED light would use much. But any electric heater will use 1500 watts which will kill almost any battery in no time. Electric heat is not for power outages. I'm still learning but the bluetti is 1152Wh. That's 1152 watt-hour (total max usage before empty), which means it can't run a 1500w space heater a full hour.
