The TCL QM7K is a bright QD Mini LED TV that stands out for HDR, Dolby Vision support, and strong value at this price. The 144 hertz mode was reportedly fixed by a software update, and the picture is described as good for movies, sports, and gaming in brighter rooms. The main caveat is that it can feel too dim for some setups, and the screen finish is anti reflective rather than a true matte panel. Pricing and the Prime Visa cash back also appear to fluctuate, so checking other retailers first can help.
Common Questions (5)
The listed deal can work out to about $548 after the 10% Prime Card bonus, but the cash-back offer is not showing for everyone. The base price was also noted as having been around $750 not long ago, so the current sticker price is still a major drop.
The QM7K uses TCL's Crystglow coating, which is glossy but spreads reflections across the panel rather than being a true matte screen. The true matte finish is limited to certain non-pro QM6K sizes, and the Costco QM6K pro models use the same Crystglow coating as the QM7K.
The LG B5 OLED has better contrast, perfect blacks, and wider viewing angles for dark-room movie watching. The QM7K is brighter, supports Dolby Vision, and is the better fit for bright rooms and HDR content.
The Costco QM6K and the QM7K use the same screen coating and panel approach, with TCL's Crystglow finish. The main practical difference is that the QM7K is the higher-tier model line, while the Costco QM6K pro version is effectively using the same display tech.
The 144Hz mode reportedly was not working correctly until a software update pushed out the same day. After the update, the feature is expected to function properly, making it more relevant for gaming use.

Read in reviews that non-costco qm6k have matte screen...
Wanted to check if qm7k amazon has matte or not... it just says anti-reflective

I know the LG screen is a little smaller but I'm upgrading either way from a 1080 tv to try out what 4K looks like on my 4K Blu-ray player.
