Keep in mind that this is the Canadian version as denoted by the ZC in the model number and does not come with a Samsung factory warranty in the US. It only comes with a 90-day Woot warranty. Woot also sells the US version which you can tell because it will say that it has a one year Samsung warranty (and it costs about $100 more).

It's an awesome soundbar and a great deal, but be aware that some people have reported problems getting service if something goes wrong.

How likely does these need to be repaired? Sound bar should just work right

You would think.

You are better off getting an avr and some bookshelf speakers for the price. You will end up with much better sound and warranty. Plus if anything fails in the longer term your costs are limited. Downside is you will have to run some wiring.

For what it's worth my 990c has been flawless for 3 years. Never updated the firmware up until a few weeks ago and still going strong.
