...so, why does a multimeter need Al? I want actual, precise measurements....not estimated slop telling me what it thinks I want to hear.
AstroAI is the brand, been around a long time. Not really AI, just the brand.

I bought a more standard DMM month or so ago and I like it. It's pretty small and the leads were a little shorter than ideal but they work. This is obviously a different device, but I wonder if that trend would be similar.

So they're misleading everyone, inferring they're Al when they're really not? That's a special kind of slop.

I've been using a normal non clamp version of theirs for like three years now. Blew the fuse by testing ac amperage with my lead in the voltage position. Swapped the fuse and back in business.

That china shop that begins with a T and the sound cows make has had these for about 1/2 this price.. I am not sure if amerzon is trying to become one of those china stores or are the other stores becoming scamerzon.. Both seem to get the same stuff.

AstroAI is decently well regarded for budget multimeters. Fine for home/hobby use. Zoyi/Aneng also makes some good ones and are sold on aliexpress.

AstroAi has been around long before Ai became a popular thing and have nothing to do with artificial intelligence. They are decent multimeters for someone who doesn't use them professionally. If you Google around looking for decent budget multimeters, AstroAi is often mentioned. If you are planning on checking high voltages/amps or using this for your job every day, spend the money and get a Fluke. This will do just fine on a workbench at home getting used to check batteries, measure circuits, you name it.

Got one to replace my plain multimeter. Now to find time to learn how to use it. Haha.
