These polarized sunglasses are best as cheap, disposable shades for driving, yard work, the beach, or keeping in the car. The polarization is described as decent, the frames stay put, and they are light and comfortable enough for everyday use. They also work well as backup pairs when losing or scratching nicer sunglasses is a concern. The main drawbacks are flimsy build quality, easy scratching, and coatings that can rub off or get sticky over time, with fit also feeling tight for wider faces. A practical low-cost spare if durability is not the priority.

  • The sunglasses can work well as spare pairs for driving and outdoor yard work.

  • The lenses reportedly provide decent polarization for beach and outdoor use.

  • The lightweight frames can feel comfortable while still providing sun eye protection.

  • The low-cost 3-pack can reduce stress when kids lose or break sunglasses.

  • The glasses can be useful as sacrificial beach sunglasses to avoid scratching nicer pairs.

  • The lenses can scratch very easily with regular use.

  • The front tint coating can rub off after a couple weeks of normal driving use.

  • The soft-touch plastic coating can become sticky or peel and make a mess.

  • The sunglasses can cause light distortion that may be unsafe for driving.

Are these really better than designed and quality than the dollar store versions? or should I just shop at like Walmart or Target for slightly better ones for about $10/pair?
These are pretty much the equal of the Walmart or Target glasses, and much better than the dollar store.

It says $17, not sure how you're mathing but $17 for 5 isn't better value than $10 for 3
It's Amazon, where prices change constantly. When he posted they were $14.99 for the five pack.

These are really good, ultra light and well made. I view the lightness to be a big pro when i guess some think that means cheap? Highly recommend for the price and quantity and I've owned many expensive pairs.

Oh thank you! Just found the same ones there. Ended up getting 4 glasses for $6 (instead of 3 for $10 as in this deal).

Looks like good quality but it has that soft touch coating on the plastic that eventually gets sticky and or peels off and makes a mess. Hard pass for me.

I had lost at least 3 pairs of oakley in the past 2 years during my trips. I just bought 2 packs of these for roughly about $20 each. They are quite comfortable to wear with clear view. They serve my purpose for eye protection against the sun at a cheap price.
Had a PT job as a sports ( little league baseball) sports photographer bcuz my bf sister opened up a sports photo business yada yada so she bought us 130$ Nike polarized sunglasses back in 2005 & in my off time rode a skidoo w/ my brother driving & he flipped it & my glasses fell off & this gone 4ever - id still have them if i had ur mindset back then - very smart to use these disposables @ beach & save ur elite oakleys as a high end garaged sports car only used when conditions are ideal - everyone I buy sunglasses ( won't pay more than 20$ & found some great deals ) I ALWAYS think of those Nike glasses - 150$ in 05 is like 250$ today

Got these last time and have used them several times. Better than dollar store glasses for sure and the polarization is decent. Good for the price, certainly not the best quality but they've been fine for me. Can't speak to the longevity, obviously.

These are perfect for the beach when you don't want to risk your good sunglasses getting scratched with sand. I've got 25 year old Oakleys and won't take them to the beach, which is why they have lasted 25 years.
How could you trust these to protect your eyes from sun in the beach???

Got these and had to return them, my face is too wide for them and they felt like they would give me a headache over time. Just a heads up for other people that may also have a giant noggin.
