This is a good deal, as slick as there will be for a while, I expect. I had been holding off on AirTags until the release of the 2nd gen, but now they're ordered. Thanks for posting, OP.

Anyone know of any reviews that attempt to compare gen1 to gen2, reading the marketing materials it seems like a case could be made for gen1 at the right price and use case.
