Why'd they delete all the comments on this?

Note: I found the website's inventory count to be accurate. Asked a lady in the front if they still had them thinking I'd need their help in case these were locked up. They're not. She said they were all gone but I found the exact number shown on the website when I asked. Also, to verify if your store has them on clearance, set the website to your chosen store and see if a 'clearance price' link pops up.

Six in stock near me for this price but the last thing I need is a 4th Ryobi Impact Driver LOL! My 7 year old Ryobi P238 brushless one is still going.

Why they always have to sell it as a kit? I have more chargers than I know what to do with

I've been in Ryobi for 10 years and have abused the heck out of their tools. I even used a reciprocating saw to cut down a 50ft bamboo grove and cut up the root balls in the ground. All of those tools still work, even the saw.
Anyway, if my closest HD had one I'd probably bite. The impact driver is my most used tool, and having the HP model would be nice

I got one with 1.5 AH and the charger for $39 yesterday. My store had 3 of those available. Not sure if it is still available.

That was the regular version. This is the brushless version (generally lighter, more powerful, more efficient).

I see the "regular" (not brushless) one on sale for $29 for the tool only.

RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless 1/4 in. Impact Driver (Tool Only) P235AB - The Home Depot

Is the brushless one that much of an upgrade to be worth double the price?
On paper the torque looks very similar: 1800 in-lbs vs 1900 in-lbs. I don't care much about weight or battery efficiency.

I'm trying to answer that question for myself. I have an old blue shell Ryobi impact that I've had for many years, and worry that it may soon die in the middle of a project. I've added some new Ryobi's recently with some of these good deals as I'm slowly rebuilding my tool box.

Also, that $29 one seems out of stock already.

EDIT: I also heard that the brushless ones are more quiet too.

Other than maybe a flashlight, I will only buy brushless tools these days. Yes, it's almost 2x the price but the 22 bucks will save you many headaches down the road.

They are more powerful, power-efficient, quieter, and last longer with more consistent performance (no brushes to wear out, get fouled, etc.)

I upgraded from 'old blue' that you have which would struggle with some mid-size screws to a milwaukee brushless ... and wow. A world of difference when driving 3" construction screws much less lag bolts that I'd previously need my 3/8 impact wrench for.
