The Panasonic Z8B is being framed as a mid tier OLED that stands out for cinematic picture quality, natural colors, excellent motion handling, and strong build quality. It is also praised for deep customization and for looking very close to the flagship Z95B in side by side comparisons. The main concern is SDR brightness, with reports of very low output on the 77 inch model and warnings that it may be best suited to darker rooms. Fire TV also draws criticism for ads and a cluttered interface, though some settings tweaks and external streaming devices can reduce the annoyance.
home theater viewers who care about "unbeatable motion handling" and "cinematic/natural colors" because commenters say the Panasonic has tank-like build quality, natural colors, and tons of picture customization with motion quality close to the flagship.
smart-TV users who don't mind minimizing the Fire TV interface because commenters report you can turn off Fire TV/TV ads in settings and mostly just see a show-flash page with favorites front-and-center.
buyers who watch in a darker room because one commenter says SDR brightness was reported around ~103 nits and calls it abysmal, implying it's mainly a fit when your viewing environment is controlled.
people who plan to use a streaming stick/box (Roku or Android) and keep the TV offline so the TV OS only handles basic TV functions because a commenter says this avoids Fire TV issues and they've had no problems so far.
people who watch mostly SDR content in brighter conditions because commenters cite reviews reporting very low SDR brightness (~103 nits) and say SDR is the majority of what they watch, so they'd pass.
buyers who want to avoid Fire TV's ad-heavy experience because commenters say Fire TV defaults to Fire output on startup with external devices and they get "bombarded with ads," making them regret buying a Fire-based TV.
people who don't want to deal with frequent OS updates and promotional push because one commenter describes Fire OS as an ad-targeting vessel that updates almost daily and repeatedly features rental/buy promotions.
buyers comparing against LG C-series OLED deals who mainly want the best value without Fire TV tradeoffs because a commenter says the Panasonic specs plus Fire TV "kill this one" versus an LG C-series sale price.

FireTV is a door to a bunch of other doors (launches apps ie streaming channels) = same thing these guys do (AppleTV, GoolgeTV, Roku).
Also I don't know any other portal app that handles a modern 4K TV's many custom settings like this champ either.

Not everyone watches TV outside in bright day light.
Seriously Tom's (we get paid by the ad click throughs to Amazon) Guide is now your source for TV specs?
I trust my eyes & know who to trust esp. when they show me a side by side comp vs. arguably the best flagship TV out right now & shows me there is immaterial differences:

Seriously do better
If there's anything to complain about it's Roku that literally pops up a "more ways to watch" banner in the middle of your show or movie

Are you drama queens flying a 787 or something?

Most of us use the bookmark function and don't notice anything else.
We don't let the inconsequential veneer stop us from getting a, great TV.
Esp when you don't even have 1st hand experience with this Panasonic implementation.
Most Smart TV owners will use the onboard app. While others may simply add a peripheral streaming device of their choice.
My point was that some people make a big deal out of a streaming portal is just odd.
Esp when it's just a bunch of bookmarks at the end of the day and this is actually nicely integrated with this Panny Z8B to help owners tweak the TV settings.
Those posters have no idea how well FireTV is configured with this Panasonic and am glad they are in their little bubble picking their noses while I am on my 2nd week of Panasonic utopia.

On this Panasonic, I'll be honest, I turn off the ads in the Panasonic and FireTV settings & really only barely see the usual show flash page like any other streaming device as a background wallpaper.
Else my favorites are front & center. And yes I get interesting suggestions that I didn't know about all the time.
This is sad for them if they hold a fabricated issue against this great TV.
Typical of today's ignorant biases.
Amazon Firesticks were my first foray into streaming, but I abandoned those very quickly due to the ad-to-content ratio, went to Roku for a while until I had one catch on fire (literally - smoke and sparks) and the replacement went into a boot loop updating itself the first time it was powered on, then I discovered the AppleTV 4K boxes and have been happy with those for a few years (I have four).

That is 100% not the experience of this Panasonic Z8B nor the flagship Z95B.
What an bizarre comment.
It's funny you wasted your time with ads when you could have minimized them.

Glad the marketing technique is a win for you. I make a point to avoid those things out of pure anti-ad spite.
