The Panasonic Z8B is being framed as a mid tier OLED that stands out for cinematic picture quality, natural colors, excellent motion handling, and strong build quality. It is also praised for deep customization and for looking very close to the flagship Z95B in side by side comparisons. The main concern is SDR brightness, with reports of very low output on the 77 inch model and warnings that it may be best suited to darker rooms. Fire TV also draws criticism for ads and a cluttered interface, though some settings tweaks and external streaming devices can reduce the annoyance.
home theater viewers who care about "unbeatable motion handling" and "cinematic/natural colors" because commenters say the Panasonic has tank-like build quality, natural colors, and tons of picture customization with motion quality close to the flagship.
smart-TV users who don't mind minimizing the Fire TV interface because commenters report you can turn off Fire TV/TV ads in settings and mostly just see a show-flash page with favorites front-and-center.
buyers who watch in a darker room because one commenter says SDR brightness was reported around ~103 nits and calls it abysmal, implying it's mainly a fit when your viewing environment is controlled.
people who plan to use a streaming stick/box (Roku or Android) and keep the TV offline so the TV OS only handles basic TV functions because a commenter says this avoids Fire TV issues and they've had no problems so far.
people who watch mostly SDR content in brighter conditions because commenters cite reviews reporting very low SDR brightness (~103 nits) and say SDR is the majority of what they watch, so they'd pass.
buyers who want to avoid Fire TV's ad-heavy experience because commenters say Fire TV defaults to Fire output on startup with external devices and they get "bombarded with ads," making them regret buying a Fire-based TV.
people who don't want to deal with frequent OS updates and promotional push because one commenter describes Fire OS as an ad-targeting vessel that updates almost daily and repeatedly features rental/buy promotions.
buyers comparing against LG C-series OLED deals who mainly want the best value without Fire TV tradeoffs because a commenter says the Panasonic specs plus Fire TV "kill this one" versus an LG C-series sale price.

Because you FireTV terrorists brought your elitist grievances onto a thread about a damn good TV and spoiling a +60+ thumbs up thread with your own personal bad luck that has no real world correlation.
Smart devices <> smart users.
So maybe u take a nap a boomer.
Glad the marketing technique is a win for you. I make a point to avoid those things out of pure anti-ad spite.
Thing is u didn't and have no first hand on what actually is happening on this TV.

I don't have personal experience with this panel, but my eyes much prefer the LG panels. I have a 77" C4, 65" B5, and 48" B4 and all are great quality TVs.
Panasonic used to kill it in the plasma space, so I'll keep my eye on them over the next few years to see what OLED they come out with.
With my money, I chose the LG deals every time. Not saying this is a bad TV but some of the reviews on brightness are concerning.

Tank like Panasonic build + cinematic picture + natural colors + unbeatable motion handling + tons of picture customization.
I stopped considering the C5 when I read on Reddit about someone's dog bumping into his C5 & bent the panel while others showed pictures of their panel's profiles bowed when taken out of the box new.
All to say that LG/Samsung (electronics problems) have suspect longevity issues. ยน
When people chase 1000+ nits brightness you can tell that they can't control their viewing environment like windows.
Even if I couldn't control my space, the Panasonic can accommodate any brighter requirements easily.
When I spent 6 months looking at the mid tier TVs to purchase and even ordered a C5 ready to be delivered. So what was once a clear leader in the C5 became questionable once the Z8B entered the scene. And people who complain about FireTV haven't even talked about LG WebOS. LOL.
This video from BTT compared this Z8B to its big brother the Z95B which was arguably the best flagship of 2025 over several settings. There is not a lot of difference that I could see.
