The "2 hi-gain omnidirectional microphones" play in both ears making them essentially mono, with no directional audio.

Fine for the range, not so great anywhere else you want to know which direction a sound is coming from.

When the 4A is gone I'll still have my 2A.

you'll still want the in ear foam too if you're thinking about the LRAD being used daily now.

Walker's Tacti-Grip earmuffs are a strong range and shop hearing-protection pick, with clear voice amplification that still shuts down gunshots and other loud impulse noise quickly. They also work well for power tools, chainsaws, pneumatic nail guns, and even barking dogs, and the audio input supports add-on Bluetooth or walkie-talkie modules. The main drawback is that the microphones play in both ears, so the sound is essentially mono with no directional awareness. Fit can also be tight on larger heads, and cranking the volume can bring in static.

  • The earmuffs can help with clear communication while blocking gunshots during range use.

    diabeticderek21

  • The built-in amplifier can boost human voices and natural sounds while rapidly blocking loud gunshots and other sounds.

    jdshear01

  • The earmuffs can work well for loud pneumatic nail guns and other power-tool noise.

    rKhayd

  • The earmuffs include an audio input with Bluetooth and walkie-talkie modules that attach to the earmuffs.

  • The omnidirectional microphones can play in both ears, which makes the audio essentially mono.

    Hotpuck6

  • The mono channel can be a dealbreaker for hunting because it makes sound direction hard to judge.

    nuggets

  • The earmuffs can produce noticeable static when the volume is cranked up.

    FHRITP

  • The earmuffs are all plastic, so a single good drop may degrade sound protection.

Friend of mine raves about this particular one. He's really into guns and uses this one to peacefully work on descaling fish in his kitchen with his tactical knife while his mother in law screams at his wife in the other room for marrying him.
Tell him to buy the wife a set of these muffs and train her to clean the fish. Let MIL scream until she's hoarse. Win for everyone. Thumbup

I would say they would be 'adequate' for lawn mower equipment but probably not right for the application. These have a built in amplifier that amplifies human voices and natural sounds BUT block gun shots and other loud sounds very rapidly. Ideally they work as normal ear muffs...but so do the cheap $3.99 set at Harbor Freight. This is a great deal for this brand, I've seem them be up to 60-80 bucks when they first came out. Just realized Harbor has a cheap $13.99 version of noise cancelling headphones similar to these...I mean they aren't Walkers so they may not be tacticool at the range but would be fantastic if you were trying to equip a while fam for occasional use in the back yard.If I had a bigger yard and spent more time mowing, I would probably look at using a pair of bluetooth enabled ear muffs so I could listen to music or a podcast. 3M makes a model that could do that, also while trying to find it on Menards site, I see they have a Mastercraft brand that also is a bluetooth ear muff design. Just a suggestion, as it better suits your needs. These would work, but for the cost I would aim to spend a little more and get a bluetooth enabled pair for entertainment purposes.
Tl;dr. These have an audio input. There are bluetooth and walkie talkie modules made to sandwich right on.
