Works great for the milk drinks I make at home. It's not local-roasted fresh, but they're good enough for a daily driver.

Tempting at this price, but Lavazza never fails to disappoint me. I don't know if it's simply stale beans, or by design, the taste is just "off". And this includes Super Crema. Maybe they do it right in Italy, IDK, but I'd rather have SBs, which isn't the best either.

The "taste of Italy" is really Illy Classico. At least that's what I'm usually served in Rome. It's just so pricey here. The Lavazza bean that hits the spot for me is Gran Riserva but that north of $30/kg these days, unfortunately. I was previously making do with Crema e Aroma which had just a bit more bite and complexity than Super Crema. I find the straight "Espresso" blend to be rather underwhelming but some folks rate the new Lamborghini so I might give that a whirl as it's a fair bit less than Gran Riserva.

Gave up on lavaza from Amazon for the most part as dates were old or beans were stale in puffy bags. Tried lavazza direct with no luck. Went to Italy's best and have been there 4 years now and haven't looked back. Prices consistently lower than Amazon with auto ship and every now and then they have great 50% off deals. I'll still grab a kilo bag off Amazon when prices are low and roll the dice on roast dates. Lavazza is good coffee if it's sourced from a distributor that actually cares about stock rotation.

I guess I'm lucky to have a great local roaster that packs 1/4, 1/2 and 1lb bags with roast dates and varieties. I buy 1/4lbs for ~$6.50 and it makes ~6 double espressos at ~18g per pull so about a buck pull.
