Very good deal and a great screen. The mobile 5080 in this laptop is more powerful than a 5060 Ti 16gb desktop GPU but a bit less powerful than a desktop 5070. However the desktop 5070 only has 12gb VRAM and this has 16gb so pros and cons.

I just got the Omen Max 16 open box for $1800, which really impressed me. Might be better to go this route though, as from what I've read, the Legion seems to be the better laptop.

If you can get by on a small desktop build a RTX5070 desktop has a little more performance vs this 5090laptop gpu that will likely throttle unless your AC is set to 65F with a laptop cooler on high. 🤷 ♂️😊

Don't forget to include a 240hz OLED monitor and portable power station so you can use that setup anywhere.

In other words: laptop buyers are not looking for a desktop for specific reasons.

Unless the AI bubble bursts in the next two weeks, hardware prices are going to keep going up. So I wouldn't count on it. That's also within the return period so worst case scenario you can return it after you buy one on sale.
