Everybody has their own taste, but your opinion is not widely held amongst Brazilians. My favorite for years has been Melitta but recently the price has become unreasonable ($20 for the same size box as these). I have been drinking 3 Corações lately, which to my taste is not quite as good as Melitta but better than Pilão.. in other words, good coffee.

These coffees are not 100% arabica, and highly known in Brazil for having branches and leaves mixed in the middle of the grounds. If you want a good coffee from Brazil, buy from small producers and from a light roast, not a "extra strong" ultra dark to hide the beans imperfections.

Definitely agree on the extraforte. And no doubt there are better coffees, if you're willing to pay for it. I'm not sure where you can buy coffee from small Brazilian producers here in the US, but if you know a source I'd be interested. I am not Brazilian, but was connected by marriage for most of my life and I definitely prefer coffee from there. In fact, I prefer many many things from there - I fell in love with the country long ago. My heart will always be in Rio.

Dollar Tree has Brazilian coffee in 4oz ground that's drinkable. I took it camping and it was fine. Hey, $1.50 to test is cheap
