Community Reviews
This Legion Pro 5i pairs a 16 inch 1600p OLED 165 hertz display with an RTX 5070, and the standout appeal is the screen. The OLED gets praised for deep blacks, around 500 nits of brightness, and an overall excellent picture, while the chassis is described as reasonably quiet and well cooled for the GPU. The main concerns are the 8 gigabytes of VRAM and 16 gigabytes of system RAM, which can feel tight at native 2560 by 1600 and are not easy to justify upgrading later. It looks strongest as a premium gaming laptop where display quality matters most.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. The 16" OLED panel is described as amazing, with 500 nits and very dark blacks, making it one of the strongest parts of the deal.
The machine is reported to handle heat well on the GPU side, with reviews and firsthand use describing it as not super loud and without high-pitch whine. The CPU can still run hot in heavier Legion models, so the back exhaust area gets warm during sustained gaming.
It should run most games well on the laptop itself, but the 8GB VRAM and 16GB system RAM are the main limits at 2560x1600. At that resolution, VRAM can run out often in newer games, and external-monitor gaming may stress it more.
With a 5070, the non-Pro Legion is often the better value because it is lighter and thinner while offering similar specs. The Pro chassis only makes more sense if you want the bulkier cooling-focused design or plan to step up to a 5070 Ti.
No. The laptop RTX 5070 uses a 5060-class die and VRAM, so it should not be expected to match desktop RTX 5070 performance.

Every review I have seen says this machine does great on temp. Check notebookCheck for good reviews that go in depth on build quality and the like if you care to. Just google the model+year+notebookcheck.
As for the other person who respondoed to you, the 5090 is a totally different animal than a 5070 in laptop. Massive massive difference on heat output.
If the screen were 1920x1080, that would be a different story.
