I unplugged my Legion while the GPU was working, it instantly say 1 Hour left on the battery. (it was 100% and this is brand new machine) so bring your charging brick and mine takes 400 watts power. lol. omg. Keep it near a power source!
When leaving the house, don't forget your flux capacitor 🤣

It is a huge brick. Biggest charger I've ever gotten. I contemplated about bringing the machine out but it's pretty heavy. I also just learned how to disabled all of the crazy RGBs on the logo, and on the back fan/metal vent area. It was flashing like crazy but I never cared because I was at home. lol.

I have the Legion 7i Pro Gen 9 and it has a massive 330w power brick. I've heard the new Gen 10 uses a 400w one.

Personally I like the Legion 5 non pro more this generation. 4.4 lbs for a .9" screen drop is insane, and power+HDMI out the rear is so convenient compared to the sides. Wish these still had almost all the ports in the rear like my Gen 7 Legion Pro 5 did. Main difference on the processor is if you want as much power as you can at the cost of more heat+noise and crap battery life. the 350 gets 6+ hours with the screen at a decent brightness doing stuff. This is like under 3 hours. Single core speeds are pretty close, and neither CPU will bottleneck a 5070 so as far as gaming goes you shouldn't see much difference in most use cases either.

Also apparently the Pro 5 doesn't have a USB4 40 Gbps port? Pretty sure the non pro does which is weird.
Not sure about those specs but the pro versions are better build quality. Metal vs plastic, better hinges, better cooling, etc. Huge deal for me personally. This is a good deal, I think I paid $1340 a couple months ago.

I have legion 7i gen 9 and I thought it was heavy carrying that thing around with the charger. This is 5.5lbs and 400w charger going to break your back.

If I was in the market I would snatch this up in a sec!! My Predator i7 from 2020 still kicks butt so I'm not looking.

Yeah, though the build quality on the Legion 5 Pro has been downgraded some. Bottom is plastic now not metal and honestly the rigidity of the chassis on the non pro feels less flexible. Probably because it weighs over a lb less.

On the cooling note, even when benchmarking I haven't seen any heat issues on my non pro 5070. No comment on the hinges.

Talking about longevity (that is why I care about build quality) power out the back and HDMI removes one of the bigger sources of damage in my experience. Namely that power ports tend to degrade if on the side because they regularly get pulled or squeezed while sitting on the couch for instance. Or pulled off a table instead of just out of the back when a kid/animal wanders by.

Really wish they had rear ports on the pro this year, would have gone with a 5080, but rear power+Video is a non negotiable for me now.

And yeah this deal is nice. So is the 5080 for under 2k.

How is the battery life?! Can I use this to take on the road and make music if need be?!
I would expect this to be sub 3 hours, possibly sub 2. This processor is a beast and comes with beastly power usage unfortunately.
