I've purchased this blade set twice and they are OEM and lasted just as long as the blades that the shaver shipped with.
.

USB charging cables are available for these shavers.

Panasonic lists the replacement blades at $114.99. Adding, mixed reviews on the $35~$50 Chinese re-pop versions. Seems a shame to mothball or dispose a working shaver just for new blade economics. I guess there's the new 100% battery that accompanies.

Anyone got a work-around on the Panasonic-branded Japanese blades for a more reasonable price? I am really on the fence about buying (another) backup ..

I sure wish the USB-C versions were sold in the states. My understanding is that they are available in Japan, sold/named as Lamdash, not Arc.

If I didn't already invest in an expensive non-electric, I would consider this.

Wow I had no idea they sell USB charging cables for these. I've been using these for years and hate dealing with the power brick (even though it's small). Thanks!

Bought into this deal earlier this month and sold my 5 yo ARC5 within a week for 60 shipped. I would say by year 5 I was getting cleaner shaves in 2-3 passes vs 1.

I suspect you haven't noticed the degradation in performance. If you replaced the blades/foil you will likely be surprised how much better it works. I have had an Arc 3 for ~10yrs, it needs new blades yearly even with frequent cleanings. I find the best way to clean is to use an ultrasonic cleaner for the blades/foil weekly.

Are you saying you hadn't changed the blades in 5yrs? What kind of maintenance did you do over that time?

I don't understand the issue. Do you not have a plug by your sink where you keep your razor? A change lasts me over a week using my 10yr old Arc3 daily. What difference would a USB charger make? You would still need a brick for this cable unless you have an outlet with USB plugs built in.

You already need a power brick for a phone or laptop. This makes it easy to just plug it in to the one you already have vs having to bring a whole separate brick just for the razor

Uh... With a USB connection I can charge it with my power bank i use for my laptop and phone.
It would be even better if it just had a USB C port instead of a proprietary plug. One less cable to carry.
