Community Reviews
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and other full synthetic jugs can net a strong effective price, especially when the $30 prepaid card is paired with Walmart or AutoZone pricing. The oil is described as a solid choice for high mileage and specialty applications, and the rebate has paid out cleanly for some claims. The main catch is that the offer is store only, with online pickup, Instacart, and some receipt formats causing trouble. Rebate approvals also seem inconsistent, so receipt details and status checks matter.
Common Questions (5)
It can be approved quickly, sometimes within 2-4 days, but payout may still take about 2-3 weeks. Some claims later changed from approved to declined, so checking status regularly and following up if payment stalls is important.
At common Walmart pricing around $26.50-$29.44 per 5-quart jug, two jugs can net out to about $24-$30 after the $30 card, or roughly $11.50-$12 per jug when bought at the lower price. One example worked out to $23 for 2x 5-quart jugs.
Use the TC number on the Walmart receipt, which is the transaction code near the top of the receipt. The rebate form asks for an invoice number, and entering the TC has led to approvals, though some claims still needed a clearer receipt upload or resubmission.
It works for in-store purchases only at participating locations; online orders and in-store pickup can be rejected for this promo. Several shoppers had to cancel online orders and repurchase at the store to qualify.
A B&M Walmart receipt is the safest choice; Instacart receipts may be treated like Walmart.com and rejected. In-store Walmart purchases on the participating-location list have been accepted, while online pickup orders were advised against.

Update, status changed to Declined on 3/16. What a F company.
I contacted them directly and they said I had to have a manager email them directly confirming my purchase was legitimate.
I've never had any issues with Pennzoil rebates before.
Does anyone the invoice number I need to input from the wal-mart receipt? There are so many numbers on the receipt. I possibly submitted the wrong numbers?

2026-02-27 Claim submitted.
2026-03-03 Received email stating claim is on hold. From email "Issue: Missing invoice number. The invoice number entered at the time of submission is not listed on your invoice/supporting documentation. Please upload a clear image of your invoice/supporting documentation that matches the invoice number listed in your claim."
IIRC, during submission I entered the TC number from the receipt of my Meijer, in-store purchase. I uploaded the digital receipt the store provides to my online account, which is the same as the paper receipt I received, minus a bar code at the bottom. I am confident I entered the TC number correctly because I recall copying & pasting from the store-provided digital receipt. Both the store-provided digital and paper receipts contain the same TC number. I did not know how best to respond to the email instructions, and the telephone # for the rebate only connects/connected to an automated system that instructs to use the website before disconnecting. So, I simply uploaded a scan in pdf format of the paper receipt. Then my claim was approved 2026-03-05. I do not fully understand why my initial submission was not sufficient. I am still awaiting my award email.
Few days later I check and find they declined the claim. I put the TC number in the field. When called, they said they wanted a manager to email their copy of the receipt to Pennzoil... Well that's certainly not happening.
I've resubmitted using the TR number and will see what happens. It almost seems like they chose which number to use at random.
Update: I resubmitted using the TR number AND with two photos: One of the receipt itself, one of the two bottles with the receipt sitting on them. That got approved.

I decided to resubmit instead, and got approved this time. Used the TR number and made it really clear by taking two photos: One of the receipt itself, and one of the receipt laying on the two bottles, lol.
