Path of least resistance is to return and repurchase. I'd circle the store number, TC, date, and product. Use a scanner if possible. I still have more than 20 jug of almost free Rotella 5W30 during Pep boys' clearance rebate campaign. It's 2026...different unwritten rebate criteria.

All the oil companies should have blockbuster earnings in the next 2 quarters with +$100 oil. Unfortunately, the lousy UK management at SHEL still want to *uck the customers with these silly games. I don't promote brand loyalty, but I have to give credit to XOM's CEO for boosting the dividend during COVID.

During Pep Boys clearance I bought 10 quarts of Shell Rotella for $36 (there was 40% off in store). Rebate was $60. Not only I got 10 quarts of free oil but in addition I made $20 on top of it. The best oil rebate I have ever made.

Also my claim got denied for some bogus reasons claiming that receipt is not clear, which straight lie. The picture is sharp and clear as can be. The guy said I need to get reprint and resend the receipt
I told him that for me easier to just return the product back to the retailer and never deal with pennzoil rebate fraud again

Walmart purchases may be denied because of bogus claims. If u purchased in store, check your submission claim, after a week or so, to see if, it's denied. Call in and they will fix it. I just did, today. My receipt is huge and all four corners showing. I highlighted the two oils in the pic, w the phone's edit function. Rep looked at the claim and said, it's legit. I'll get the $20 rebate.

My claim for an in-store Walmart purchase was denied, even though I followed all steps exactly and uploaded a crystal clear copy of the receipt. The rebate phone rep is stating that I now need to have an "invoice" from Walmart, and since I don't have an invoice, that they need to "escalate" my claim and wait another 7 days. Seems like they're moving the goalposts, which is BS. I'll give them a week, but after that I'll just return the oil for a refund.

Speaking to rep wasnt long maybe less that 5 mins but the wait time was like 35+ mins. she said something about an invoice#. I told her was the TC# above the barcode correct, she said it should be but lets see what it comes back. Probably someone new processing these I've had no prior issue with submissions.

This is straight up BS. I also got denied. Never had an issue with rebates. If Pennzoil is going to play dirty like this I aint going to buy there product ever again. I am seeing here a lot of people are getting denied seems like scamming time from them.

Rebate was auto-denied seconds after I submitted. I called in and after 30 minutes of hold music, the chat with the rep took 5 min (just like someone else above). No reason given, but they sent me a canned email:

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I would like to inform you that a ticket has been submitted on your behalf to review and overturn the status of your claim.

Please note that the review process may take approximately 5 to 7 business days to be completed. Please keep in mind that you can check your rebate's status online to get the latest updates.

If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us at 1-888-232-5988, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST, and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST.

I've had success in previous years with paper submission of these rebates. But I'm just going to avoid these rebates going forward until I see more reports of success with this system. While the online submission process is super easy, it doesn't help if the system auto-rejects them.

Got the oil from Walmart (Walked in store and paid for)
Never had problems with the rebates and did quite few with them
