Your advice is LUDICROUS, and ABSOLUTELY unnecessary for the majority of vehicles on the road.

I had a Catastrophic Failures class back in the *80s* where the prof noted a study where they NEVER CHANGED THE OIL in a bunch of taxis, only replacing what was lost in changing only the filter. The failure rate on those cars was no worse than constantly changing the oil. Oil tech has advanced "a bit" in the last 40 years.

You can spew your 5K all day long, but people that send samples off for analysis almost always end up with longer intervals.

I buy my "summer oil" Pennzoil Platinum 10w30 (instead of 5W30) at Autozone (5 quarts is $20) and combine that with Pennzoil Rebate . After rebate ($25) it was $1.50 qt. Now rebate is only $20 so $2 quart, still not bad.

Just a warning, I've had several of these rebates either rejected for incorrect reasons (eg saying it was an invalid purchase date when it wasn't) or say that the gift card was issued when it wasn't, and couldn't get them to honor it or cancel and resend the gift card. I did receive some of them, so it's a crapshoot.

Bought some T6 oils last Nov. Rebate approved and emailed. Still no rebate after one week. Contacted rebate house. Rebate showed up in two weeks. Suspected rebate was never sent out the first time. Need to stay on top of this rebate since this is a digital reward.

A long story short i tried this penzoil 2-3 yrs ago rebate and never got it. Submitted 3xs 2xs got rejected I forget the reasons 3rd time never heard back. I did a Castrol rebate last year and had no issue. YMMV

My math was based on Ultra Platinum. Two 5qt jugs @$27 each = $54 - $30 rebate = $24 for 10 quarts of Ultra Platinum
