This Dremel Blueprint is a compact 12 volt drill driver with a stud finder and detachable laser level, aimed at quick household tasks and tight spaces. The included 2 amp hour battery and charger make it especially appealing for anyone already in the Bosch or Dremel 12 volt ecosystem, and the battery and charger alone are said to be close to the deal price. The drill has enough torque for most fasteners, the stud finder works well, and the physical screw and unscrew switch is a nice touch. The bulkier body and gimmicky stud finder attachment are the main knocks, so it fits best as a handy secondary tool.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, it fits the Bosch/Dremel 12V ecosystem, so it is an easy buy if you already own Bosch batteries. The included 2Ah battery and charger can also make the kit worthwhile on their own if you need another battery.

  • No. It is closer in form factor to a compact installation-style drill, but it is not comparable in capability to the Milwaukee M12 Installation Driver. The Blueprint is better suited to quick small tasks, while the Milwaukee is in another league for heavier work.

  • The stud finder is reported to work well for some applications, but its non-removable design can get in the way during work. The physical screw/unscrew switch is a plus compared with a membrane-style control.

  • It reportedly has enough torque to drive most fasteners, and the 12V motor is considered adequate for small jobs. It is not positioned as a heavy-duty driver, so it makes more sense for quick household tasks than demanding drilling.

  • Yes, it is an easy add-on if you already have Bosch 12V batteries and tools. If you do not, the main question is whether you want to commit to the Bosch ecosystem, since the value is strongest for existing owners.

I personally have a lot of Bosch 12v tools and a dremel, so a 2ah battery + a drill is a no brainer for me. Ordered!

If you have bosch batteries already, this is a no brainer. If not, consider your options and if you want to be in the bosch ecosystem.

That's why I bought it. The battery and charger are the same price alone.

No, I have both and the Milwaukee Installation driver is in another league. I keep this Dremel Blueprint in the kitchen for quick things without having to walk to the garage, good for small things and the laser comes in handy.

If you want something better, skip the Milwaukee Installation driver, and get the Bosch Chameleon, unless you already have Milwaukee M12 batteries. Most who owns both the Milwaukee Installation, and Bosch Chameleon, will say the Bosch is more handy to have around. Just make sure you get the brushless version of the Bosch Chameleon.

Why do you prefer the Bosch? Also, I have the M12 fuel drill and impact... why might I want something like the installation one? Just curious I'm sure I'll find out on my own...

I seen a review of this around Christmas time on yt . Prior to Black Friday Lowe's had this 35$ on a daily deal type sale. It was pretty impressive in the review it had enough torque to screw most fasteners. The stud finder worked well . I've been waiting for another sale 35$ or similar I have seen it 50$ a few times since at Lowe's. I'm normally a Milwaukee guy but for 35$ I regret not picking one up .
