I just checked my Costco app and checked out through same-day instacart, it was deducting the credits I had in my account from previous gift cards. I didn't submit the order though.

You can use the credits that were added previously but you cannot add the instacart gift cards anymore to Costco Same Day

Prices are same, fees are not: IC app addore fees than costco.sameday
I did a comparison for a $160 order, same items in both carts and I'm an IC+ member
Result:
Costco.sameday: $160
IC -costco: $170
IC are just getting greedier and greedier.

I'm not that commenter, but I think the sentiment is: many times I've willing to pay extra for the convenience. Drive time/fuel and time spent in New England grocery stores in winter is not great. This is a deal on that convenience. If there is $50 / month on the sidewalk, I'm willing to pick it up. This is more hoops than bending over to pick it up, but still reasonably low effort.

And for whatever reason they increased the sameday minimum tip to 6% from 5%. Custom option is still there but why change it other than to sneak more from those who don't look at what they tip.
