Rubik's Phantom is a heat activated 3 by 3 cube that changes color as your hands warm it, making it feel more like a novelty puzzle or display piece than a standard cube. The effect looks cool on a dresser or near a fireplace, and it can become visible enough to solve after a minute of shuffling. It is not beginner friendly, can be very hard to turn, and the colors may fade back slowly enough that it feels ordinary again. Removing the stickers leaves a black cube that no longer changes color.

  • Hand heat from fingers can temporarily reveal the cube's colors for a neat effect.

  • Warming the cube near a fireplace can make the colors light up quickly.

  • After about a minute of shuffling, the cube can light up enough for a child to solve.

  • The cube can change color as you solve it, creating a visually dynamic experience.

  • The color-changing behavior can make solving impossible because colors shift after matching attempts.

  • The cube can be extremely difficult to turn by touch, making it hard to move squares.

  • The color effect can fade too slowly, turning it into an ordinary cube within about a minute.

  • Removing the stickers can result in a black cube that does not change colors and solves quickly.

That's stupid. It should light up showing right colors in right places!
And why does title say 3x3?! That's 6, but cube obviously has 4 sides!
I'm laughing at that because you done lost yo mind

Got it for my son for V-day. He loves those pricey speed cubes, so maybe he'll get a kick out of these

We have this and found it was extremely difficult to get even one square to turn much of a color by touch.

Had to click to see what "phantom" meant so I figured I'd put it down here in a comment. Heat from your hand/fingers reveals the colors temporarily. Pretty neat.
Just when I thought nothing was more frustrating than a regular Rubiks cube!

Not temporarily enough. Takes a long time to fade, so within a minute of handling the cube you have an ordinary cube.

LOL! I'm not sure how such a statement could get any more mathmatically wrong. Thanks for the giggles!

You might be able to see all colors in a sauna. Try it.
Maybe mine doesn't work well because I bought it in St George, UT during 110 degree heat in the summer and forgot to take it out of my black car with the black interior! :-D

I still can't solve my Rubiks cube from 1983 and they are making them more challenging? I solved it once.....OK.....OK I moved the stickers it's true!
I took all the stickers off and have a black cube that doesn't change colors and I can solve in seconds!

Pfft! Two words: it is easy!
But why everyone is ignoring the first sentence?

edit:
Well... The first + second

Wait... After taking the stickers off, you still have to spend time, seconds, to solve it? 🙃
