This bundle stands out for Doom Eternal, Prey, and Black Mesa, with Prey and Doom Eternal described as worth the price on their own and Black Mesa called an all time great. Mooncrash is a welcome bonus, and Prey gets extra praise for strong replay value and smooth Steam Deck performance. The main knocks are Doom Eternal's ammo and weapon flow, plus its platforming and closed arenas, which some find less satisfying than Doom 2016. A few keys also expire in about six months, so timing matters.

Common Questions (6)

  • Yes. The PC version is described as the best way to play Prey because the console ports are reportedly choppy, and it also runs perfectly on Steam Deck. It's praised for replay value and for having deeper gameplay than its setting suggests.

  • Yes. Multiple comments say Doom Eternal alone justifies the bundle price, and it plays very differently from Doom 2016 because ammo is meant to be replenished through finishing moves rather than conserved. The tradeoff is more platforming and forced weapon-switching, which some find punishing.

  • Yes. Black Mesa is included in the bundle and is called an all-time great, making it one of the standout picks in the lineup.

  • It can be, but the value drops quickly if you already own much of the lineup. One comment notes owning 3/4 of Tier 1 and OG Dark Forces, while another says many genre fans likely already have most or all of these games.

  • Yes. Mooncrash is included as a bonus alongside the main games, which makes the bundle more appealing if you want extra Prey content.

  • Yes. One comment says some of the keys expire in about 6 months, so it may be worth redeeming sooner rather than later if you buy the bundle.

Oh I get it now. FWIW, they never bothered me, I always hated the flying demons like the fat one eyed Gaga Demo (I think that was its name). Frankly I hated anything that flew in any Doom, I normally play with a controller so tracking flying things can be a lot more annoying when not using a mouse (like the fast moving skulls in Doom 3....lot of save scumming because of them).

Pretty much own most of the notable games on that list other than Starship Troopers and Dark Forces. Anybody with spare keys of those games willing to donate them out the kindness of your heart 🥹?

Starship Troopers is $30 alone on Steam, that one is definitely worth it. Dark Forces & System Shock played originals back when new and were fun. Both remastered, so if done right could be fun.

Prey and Doom Eternal alone are worth the price. Two amazing games with hours of replay value.
Prey yes.

Doom Eternal? No. It's pretty annoying. 2016 was fun enough, but they doubled down on it for eternal. They make it painfully platforming, and these dumb closed arenas with no level complexity at all. And forced weapon switching to defeat some enemies took all the doom soul out of it.
