I don't buy keys here on Slickdeals. Sure, will activate but it's a 'grey' key. Microsoft doesn't sell their products for $12.
There's always comments or questions about why Slickdeals allows these types of things here, and it's been answered that they simply get a cut.

these are grey market keys. someone has done bulk purchasing through education or non-profit channels, and then resold on these platforms. The keys will work until Microsoft deactivates them stating fraud.

I've bought something like this one. Instantly returned it. What it ends up being is some kind of "company" account and you are allocated one of the licenses from that account. I dont really know how it works and I dont trust the security. Dont really know what access the primary owner can have.

I had the same question and figured it was worth $12 to find out. This key appears to be for the LTSC version of Office 2024. I was able to download and install the LTSC version directly from Microsoft using the instructions here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us...024/deploy.

You do need to be a bit tech savvy as there's some command line steps and the configuration of an XML file involved. There may be an easier route to get the LTSC version straight from Microsoft, but I don't know it. The good news is that I did not download anything from the seller, run any script they provided, or do anything other than copy/paste the key they sent me. So far, so good: the Office apps installed successfully and the About section shows "product activated".

That's very good to know. Do you or can you provide the step-by-step on how to manipulate the XML file and where to get the LTSC version? I'm sure many in this sub will rep you many many times for sharing. Repped!
