This Bella egg cooker is a handy set it and forget it gadget for hard, medium, and soft boiled eggs, with steaming that shuts off when the water runs out. The strongest praise is for consistent results and easier peeling, especially when eggs are cooled right away in ice water or cold water. It also saves time, avoids stove boiling, and works well for regular use or larger batches. The main cautions are occasional cracking, a possible water mess or smell, and the included chime may be annoying. A practical pick for quick egg prep.

  • The cooker steams eggs and finishes automatically when the water runs out, which supports set-and-forget timing for soft, medium, and hard results.

  • The cooker can make hard-boiled eggs easier to peel after cooking, especially when eggs are transferred to cold water immediately.

  • The cooker can reduce stove handling by avoiding inserting and draining hot water, which may save time and effort.

  • The cooker reportedly includes a measuring cup with a piercing pin, which can help prevent shells from cracking during preparation.

  • The cooker may produce a musical or shrill chime when eggs finish, which can undermine the auto shut-off convenience.

  • Some batches can still produce hard or thicker-shelled eggs that are difficult to peel even after immediate ice-water cooling.

  • The cooker may require poking holes in eggs, and whites can bubble up through the hole during cooking.

  • The cooker can leave water mess on the counter or run out of water and smell up the kitchen during use.

gonna give it a go for making some breakfast snacks at work

does this work for making eggs benedict?
Poached eggs sound like a disaster in this, and only take 1-2 minutes to cook in a water bath.

I'm not a fan of one hit kitchen wonders BUT I make an exception for egg cookers.
No need for timings, vinegar, boiling, air frying, pressure cooking, ice baths, (unless you need them right now), old eggs or any of that other nonsense.
Perfect, easy peel eggs EVERY TIME. Literally set it and forget it. Walk away, come back 10 minutes or two hours later and you're eggs are done.
99/100 eggs jump out of their shell.
For $10, I'm buying a backup (or for mass potato salad day).😁
Microwave for 45 seconds. Way faster. Just make sure you make the pinhole unless you are getting even with someone.

It took me a long time to convince my wife that these work, she kept just boiling them in a pan, she wouldn't even try it. Recently, we started doing pickled hard boiled eggs and I insisted we try the machine instead of boiling. What do you know, she's sold on it. We cook 14, place them in cold water and she peels them while they're still a little warm, no issues peeling anymore like we used to have sometimes. She liked it so much we bought a second so we can do 28 at a time. If you plan on doing eggs in quantity, even a dozen at a time, spend a little extra and by a 14 egg model. https://www.amazon.com/Elite-Gour...ref=sr_1_3

I normally get these: https://www.samsclub.com/ip/13890314795 so i don't have to peel etc etc

.41/egg seems like a good proposition when considering how much time saved

But thinking these will taste better fresher, in for one
You obviously do not need to be on Slickdeals as to you are so rich to pay $.82 an egg. Two batches on this more than pays for this.

Never heard of poking a hole in the tops of the eggs, nor have I ever done that when using one of these egg cookers. I leave them in the shell in a tray in the fridge until I'm ready to eat them. Sometimes one or two will crack while cooking, but usually not. They last at least a week in the fridge if not more.
Really... the Bella cooker in the OP has the piercing pin also.

No, but immediately transfering the eggs to ice water after cooking does. Leaving them in there for a long while 15: minutes or so) to cool isn't supposed to make a difference, but in my experience it does. I initially tried to get the water to the exact temperature factories use, but just filling a bowl with 1/3-1/2 ice and adding water works. Been using one of these cheap little egg cookers about once a week for years. Add eggs and water, wait for buzzer. Perfect every time, unlike when I boil them.
Older eggs also tend to be easiest to peel. I have my own hens and it is hopeless to try and peel eggs boiled from farm fresh eggs. I usually leave some in the back of the fridge for a couple weeks before boiling.

I have never done poached eggs. Those I just make in water bath. I use this for eggs as snacks (hard boiled) and medium boiled ones for egg salad and the occasional soft boiled one. It makes these reliably.

used mine last night- never burpbed the eggs, and they turned out great- i put a timer on for 15 mins. turned off, immediately put the eggs in snow ( did not have any ice lol) and they turned out great! handy little item i think ( and uses less water then boiling on stove)
