If you're running a 5090 and a solid CPU like a 9700x, I would strongly urge you not to use a single RAM stick. You'd want 2x16gb for optimal speed. Otherwise you're basically running a Ferrari with a rev limiter. And you don't typically want to mix/match RAM sticks so you want to configure the 2 sticks to see what your actual price is.
Every Ferrari comes with a rev limiter.

Yeah the $200+ price boost to Nvidia GPUs went in effect right after that unfortunately

Plus, as this is sold by the manufacturer as a gaming pc, with a 5090 and at this huge price, the absence of a 9xxxX3D cpu is also kinda detrimental.

If you buy may want to check Heat output and be prepared to case and mobo swap.

But same GPU. If you resale all the parts exclude GPU, you would get similar amount of money back even in the ram martet today.

32gb with a 5090 is still throttling. Im at like 39gb ram usage just running arc raiders on max settings with a fresh win11 install. But I agree with the dual DIMM sentiment. At least get 32gb x 2 for a system like this.
System ram is not going to present a bottleneck to a video card. Throttling on this system is the 9700x, but probably only if you're running at 1080P and trying for super high frame rates for esports. This should however have more than one stick of ram.

Intel version of this got incredibly bad ratings from GN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cS27ol07bSo9700X is a lot easier to cool but still, I'd be cautious.
Yikes, hadn't seen that one. Looks like bad case/cooling design by HP. They basically choke airflow to the radiator with a metal shroud.

Did they run out of 16gbx2 kits? A single stick of 32gb is stupid for this performance tier. You won't be able to buy another stick or 32gb in this market.

With ram prices now is it a good idea to just upgrade to their 2x32gb kingston kit or is there a good kit somewhere that beats that price?

The stock HP 3090 i got years ago was one of the worst designed cards ive ever seen. It was a reference design so i was able to put an ekwb waterblock on it pretty easily. Stock deaign trottled after 20seconds. The motherboard in the prebuilt was also barebones garbage.
With the 12vhp connectors on 5090s and HP's grabage in house design..good luck.
