No, it's been cheaper than this in the past, $20-30 just a few weeks ago, but $60-80 several weeks/months ago.

note: downvoting me wont change the fact, ACER refub does timed price decreases. This was cheaper when i bought it a couple weeks ago, and this specific listing has been dropping. So being patient will pay off

I don't think the 5070 ti models will go under 1000 until 2027. the ti is a big step up on the 50xx series. and its 100% sold out at msrp nationwide on desktops, so ppl gonna start lookin at laptops for em if they're smart.

Ordered one will see. Best specs for the price of any gaming laptop I have seen. Main drawback is screen is locked at 240 so battery life sucks. They really should have done a 144 or 120hz panel for this. Other than maybe counter strike no one is getting 240 hz on this laptop.Prices on similar laptops are only going up with ram and gpu ram prices.

I owned a helios 17" with a 1070 previously. Obviously, this is not the same line, but I will share a big beef I had with the prior model.

They under-powered the power supply for the processor and gpu. The ONLY way you got full GPU wattage is if the battery was fully charged. While gaming, the battery would slowly drain to about 50% and then the gpu wattage would be throttled by the MB until the battery charged back up. They used the battery to supplement due to insufficient wattage from the power supply.
Obviously, when this happened, your frames dropped in game. Sometimes, it would happen at an important moment in the game, and suddenly instead of 90+ frames you drop to 59 with no warning. Super annoying.

Due to this design, my laptop suffered an early death. Something went on the motherboard and it would no longer charge the battery. with EVERY OTHER laptop I've owned, this is not a problem if you are connected to power. The battery can just die and you can still use the unit on power. NOT with the helios. Due to the design, if the battery died, and wouldn't charge, the entire unit was useless. It could not be used without the battery, EVEN IF YOU HAD POWER from the wall. With mine, the battery was fine, and I even replaced it. What happened happened on the mobo, and it would no longer pass current to the battery to charge.

I have a first generation Asus ROG gaming laptop. The VERY FIRST one with a first gen laptop i7 and a GTX870 in it that STILL WORKS TO THIS DAY! Even with a dead battery. But my Helios died after a mere 4 years due to this design.

I won't buy Acer again.

I purchased this Acer and it's terrific. Plays every game I threw at it. It is the thinnest and lightest gaming laptop I've owned. Also it's terrific for DJI drone video editing and easy to take with me when I fly. This is my fourth refurbished Acer Predator Helios Neo and like the rest of them it was flawless and nicely configured with a super bright screen. All of my other 3 Acer's still work and were passed on to the kids. I don't think you will find a better deal for this gaming laptop configuration for the price. I've not seen it lower than $1,274 and doubt it will be for awhile. Best Buy had it new over the holidays for $1,499. In my opinion you won't go wrong or regret purchasing this laptop.

When I have HDR mode enabled it's locked at 240hz, but if I go to non-HDR it gets locked at 170hz. Not a huge difference but it's something.

Of course the predator sense button that says "When AC power is disconnected, the panel refresh rate will automatically adjust to 60hz" doesn't do shit. Hell I don't even see it an option right now.
