Maybe it's been as low as $330 for those garage sale "refurbished/used/heavily beat up" ebay listings, but if one reads the description, these are brand new (w/ damaged box) --- complete with full manufacturer's warranty and Applecare eligible.
Also, to the above poster, I didn't see any links to those places where it's "as low as" $330. That's ok, happens to all of us. The other week I sent an email saying "Please see attachment" and whoopsie, totally forgot the attachment!
Now, if you compared the relative value of an entry-level M1 Air to an entry-level M4 Air (which has gone on sale for ~$750-800 over the holiday season, msrp $1000)...I'd argue for the extra ~$400 (double the price), you're getting a machine with a far superior processor, marginally larger screen, and double the ram. Also, it's not going on 6 years old. (But I'm using a 16gb/1tb M1 Air right now, and it's held up splendidly under daily normal use.)
If you have a strict budget or want to get into the apple ecosystem on the cheap, it'd be hard to beat this for a low-risk entry point. It's a delightful, well-made ultrabook that's extremely inexpensive.
Mine arrived and it's not looking 'Excellent'. It's showing a purchase date of January 10, 2025 so coverage is expired and under battery health it says 'Service Recommended'. It seems like it was turned on at some point - there's a sticker on the box that says it was inspected - and then the battery drained and sat discharged for 13 months or so.
Unless I'm mistaken, only items sold and shipped by Walmart can be returned to a store. That being said, VIP Outlet will provide the return shipping label at no cost.
Some 3rd party items can be returned to store. Need to check individual policy.
I need something to edit home videos. Just little clips from my insta360 and DJI drone. I really don't use personal computers for anything else these days. Does anyone know if this configuration can handle lite imovie work? My old 2012 macbook pro doesn't hang anymore.

I use it for my videos, does the job perfectly. I edit in 1080p though. 4k just takes too much room. You can also check YouTube, many reviews about it when video editing with 8GB RAM.

1) The details show it's returnable in store
2) I just returned a lamp to store sold by 3rd party yesterday, no issues
That's the one I ordered....the difference is that other one is supposed to be brand new with say 0 battery cycles. This one is used so may have some battery recharges. But condition says like new...so I figured with a gamble. Doesn't work out, returns should be easy. This will be my 2nd apple product after og iPhone from 2004....lol.

You guys are right in that they are different machines, but you don't need to be dicks about it. Other poster was just trying to help. This is a forum for saving cash. Why bring such hate?
theres no hate. You were mistaken and they were just pointing it out.

I'm sorry you see this as 'hate', but we should all be striving for excellence here.
1) as a community, we should be sure to not spread mis-information that can cause harm to other members. If someone buys based on this link, they will be dealing with an inferior product or a return; not the one mentioned on this thread.
2) if its truly a separate, better deal then the user can create a new post. This would in turn get evaluated, or in this case get voted down with a reason 'not a good price'
3) especially when a thread is already full of comments, we should be reducing comments get rid of the bloat when possible and help people find the meaningful and helpful comments more quickly.
4) A few segments of the slick deals rules and FAQ https://slickdeals.net/f/40596-rules-faq-tips-store-contact-info-common-abbreviations
"If you back up your statements with reasoning or links that is perfectly acceptable."
"Posting why something sucks can teach people more about the product and let them know what to look for in a future deal."
