Maybe it's been as low as $330 for those garage sale "refurbished/used/heavily beat up" ebay listings, but if one reads the description, these are brand new (w/ damaged box) --- complete with full manufacturer's warranty and Applecare eligible.

Also, to the above poster, I didn't see any links to those places where it's "as low as" $330. That's ok, happens to all of us. The other week I sent an email saying "Please see attachment" and whoopsie, totally forgot the attachment!

Now, if you compared the relative value of an entry-level M1 Air to an entry-level M4 Air (which has gone on sale for ~$750-800 over the holiday season, msrp $1000)...I'd argue for the extra ~$400 (double the price), you're getting a machine with a far superior processor, marginally larger screen, and double the ram. Also, it's not going on 6 years old. (But I'm using a 16gb/1tb M1 Air right now, and it's held up splendidly under daily normal use.)

If you have a strict budget or want to get into the apple ecosystem on the cheap, it'd be hard to beat this for a low-risk entry point. It's a delightful, well-made ultrabook that's extremely inexpensive.

Looks like these are $346 on Walmart.com. Same seller.

Mine arrived and it's not looking 'Excellent'. It's showing a purchase date of January 10, 2025 so coverage is expired and under battery health it says 'Service Recommended'. It seems like it was turned on at some point - there's a sticker on the box that says it was inspected - and then the battery drained and sat discharged for 13 months or so.

says 1 year warranty though it says refurbished. Could be an open box. Going to take a risk
Never mind. It's not M1 processor. Not worth it

Fair point, however these "open boxes" are described as unused, so the battery health should be brand new, AND the standard 1 year apple warranty should be in full effect. Otherwise, these are all falsely labeled and will be returned.
how do we check how many cycles the battery have. Getting mine soon

Thoughts about RAM are usually from Windows users, because Windows is a memory pig.
If you're just using this for socials, online banking, etc it'll be perfectly fine. Heck, use it for Clawbot or a Plex server (you'll need a usb-to-ethernet adapter probably). My kids have been using this for high school/college for years and so far so good. They can't run Fusion360, but that's what lab PCs are for.

you spent $900 just to do that?

Well, it's $346, not $900. And yes, people actually used to buy computers for all that. Isn't that amazing?

Is anyone reading the reviews and comments from Walmart.com and Ebay? The negative comments are too recent about the seller and the products.

Not a good price for 8gb ram
Depends on use case. I use exactly this model for writing, and it's perfect for that. Great battery life, easy to tote around. No complaints.

That actually is surprising to me but glad to hear it!

Eh not a good price. It's an 'OK' price -- the same price I see for local sellers on FB Marketplace. A good/great price would be $300 for a 16/256 M1 MBA.
