Also, to the above poster, I didn't see any links to those places where it's "as low as" $330. That's ok, happens to all of us. The other week I sent an email saying "Please see attachment" and whoopsie, totally forgot the attachment!
Now, if you compared the relative value of an entry-level M1 Air to an entry-level M4 Air (which has gone on sale for ~$750-800 over the holiday season, msrp $1000)...I'd argue for the extra ~$400 (double the price), you're getting a machine with a far superior processor, marginally larger screen, and double the ram. Also, it's not going on 6 years old. (But I'm using a 16gb/1tb M1 Air right now, and it's held up splendidly under daily normal use.)
If you have a strict budget or want to get into the apple ecosystem on the cheap, it'd be hard to beat this for a low-risk entry point. It's a delightful, well-made ultrabook that's extremely inexpensive.

During the call, they will ask you to submit proof of purchase with a date on it via link(I took a screenshot of the Walmart confirmation email; there is just the transaction number, date, image, and price)
In my case, the limited warranty expiration date was updated on the website within a couple of hours, but on this new Mac, the date has not yet changed.
If this works out, just replace the battery with a new one under Apple's warranty, at least you have a 30 days to do it

Main issue I have is, the battery is stuck at 1%, power settings say it's not being charged, and the battery health says "Service Recommended". Not sure what's going on here.
My warranty shows as active, expiring in August 2026. I didn't get the notice to "update your purchase date" like others, so I don't really know whether it's worth it trying to call and figure that out. I'm happy with it being 6 months left, that should give me enough time to vet the machine out.
As far as my battery, I did schedule an Apple Store visit tomorrow to get it 'serviced". We'll see how that goes, I'm hoping for a new battery.
I've been using the machine plugged in for the past few days, did the Tahoe 26.2 update, then a fresh install, and so far it's working great. If the battery service goes as expected (and I get a battery replacement), I this will be a keeper. But as of right now with this laptop sitting plugged in for the past few days, battery is still dead (stuck at 1%, says service recommended).

Thanks. I considered Photosync and watched their youtube instructional video. The only reason I did not go with it is because it only provides an ios app. I wanted a Windows app so I could mass download without clicking a lot.
I've also looked at Copytrans Cloudly (the non cloud version that connects phone to PC via usb crashes a lot with big transfers). It is supposed to allow you to download your entire icloud photo album and one button delete everything. So I decided to pay the $10 per month for the 2TB icloud storage. The phone will automatically sync and upload all my photos to the cloud. I'll use Cloudly to download all of it to my NAS, and then mass delete it. Repeat every 6 months or so.

Condition = NIB. No evidence of prior use other than the actual laptop was just placed in original box with brand new charger and cord. I assume Apple has the laptop in some sort of sleeve/plastic on screen or something (not sure).\

I'm not even an Apple guy. But I've always appreciated the build quality of Macbook Airs. Nice to have around for travel or whatever.

*Followed the update purchase date process like others mentioned. It took well over 40 mins as they wanted a receipt that shows store name (Walmart), order date, serial number etc. They requested I manually add serial number to the receipt as that was not included in any versions - email, Walmart app, Walmart website (this is the PDF they finally accepted)

Unfortunately the top case has a big dent in it since they chose to ship these all out in economy mailers so I may return this one too. It was also fully powered on so I would say overall, pretty negligent to send all these MacBooks out with the power left on and no box or padding.

I ended up returning due to the cooked battery and I ordered another. This second one has a functioning battery with 5 cycles and a warranty for 7 more months.
Unfortunately the top case has a big dent in it since they chose to ship these all out in economy mailers so I may return this one too. It was also fully powered on so I would say overall, pretty negligent to send all these MacBooks out with the power left on and no box or padding.
