It's only a problem over 500°F. Your teflon coated pans see temps higher than most people use their ovens.

Maybe, but then I'm not at all sure it's prudent to use a teflon-coated pan either!

So on top of it withstanding normal oven temperatures (taking it out for oven clean mode) as the other guy said, it should also help that the bottom of your oven is also cooler than the top where the sensor is. Specific deltas depend on design, but as long as youre not covering the bottom vents where the heat comes out, this should be fine
