Wow only 4 episodes in the 1st season, 8 in 2nd, 10 each in 3rd and final 4th. I think I'll wait for the complete or just stream it and see how it is first.

It's a fantastic series… easily the best animated series I've seen in a long long time.
But agreed, 9$ for season 1 is a bit much… especially with the first couple episodes being rather rough in both art and overall content.
Either just watch it on Netflix or wait for a deal on the complete series.

The first season was essentially a movie cut up into 4 parts, there is another Blu-ray release that has Season 1+2 together for about $14.

It's pretty lame. Anti-Christian, makes Dracula a sympathetic character, bad dialogue that uses expletives in place of character, all of the millennial writing tropes.

Getting through season 2 now, and honestly I'm not impressed. The animation style can be awesome at times, but very lazy other times. The writing and dialogue are lacking, and the emotion just doesn't come through as well as other anime. The storyline so far is alright, but some characters motives, names and backgrounds are harder to follow. I'll keep watching to give it a chance to improve by S3/4.
