I don't know if this is the same exact version that I have, but the one I have is HORRIBLE with battery life and forget about it if you have even some sweat on your finger it won't scan properly

IP53, not the best water rating but its enough for a covered porch. I wouldn't trust it long term in heavy direct weather.

I have the deadbolt version and the fingerprint sensor isn't good. Got some random Chinese door knob with a fingerprint sensor and it is much better. You'd think Eufy would have better sensors...

Very good point!
These type of locks are likely best for office or dorm like areas, not the best for primary entrances.

FYI: this line of Eufy smart locks are suspectable to picking via the physical key slot. Usually a simple wave rake is all you need. This also means likely I could use a paperclip with a bent end also, and another for tension.

Try the Tapo lock. I switched from Eufy and will never go back. Battery is rechargeable and still at 100% 2 months later and gets used a bunch everyday. I put 3 in. Response time is really good to.

My other Eufy locks have been rock solid. I have a ton of them on multiple rental properties. Will check Tapo out though. Thansk for rec.

I too had the same experience. I don't know if they improved them but the battery life was abysmal. I returned it.

I have had a eufy battery powered deadbolt lock over 3 years now. Battery life is great for mine still to this day. Maybe charge it every 5-6 months. I have it connected to home assistant as well which notifies me if the battery gets low. Mine does have a way to power with an external battery pack but I've never used it and it's not a problem for me.

Home assistant showing I charged July 6th and battery got low October 31st which is the last time I charged it

If you have an iPhone & Android household, and your phones support UWB technology, you should check out the new Aqara U400. You'll be able to walk up to the door, and it'll automatically unlock. I plan on putting my U100 on the back door once I grab one of these. Gonna wait for a sale, of course.
