This Frigidaire 5.0 cubic foot chest freezer is being used for meat storage and other overflow food, with reports that it works great and keeps running strong after a couple of years. The smaller size makes sense when a larger freezer stays half empty, and chest freezers are described as the more efficient style. The garage ready design is also noted as handling hot ambient temperatures up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The main questions raised are its power draw and a spec page listing an oddly tight 10 to 11 degree Fahrenheit internal range, which is called out as nonsense.
The freezer can work well for meat storage like ribs and steaks.
The freezer has reportedly remained in strong running condition after a couple of years.
A three-year warranty add-on reportedly helped address concerns after long-term freezer use.
Chest freezers can be more efficient than upright freezers for frozen storage.
The listed internal temperature range is very tight, with a maximum of 11°F and minimum of 10°F.
Walmart pages reportedly do not show the model's power draw in kWh, making energy planning harder.
The freezer's garage-ready claim may be limited by ambient temperature guidance up to 110°F.
The energy-efficiency discussion may not be straightforward because chest freezers are not the only preferred option.

I looked into it when I bought my 7 cu ft. In short: these things vary little from one brand to the next, and are all pretty efficient.
I kinda like that too, easier to get stuff. Does that use a lot of electricity and can I use it in my kinda hot garage in Florida?
