This is a not a dock. It doesn't mention that in the title or description and has no HDMI. It's meant to use your Switch screen with controllers. Many of the poor reviews are complaining that it's not a dock when they just didn't look into the device info before ordering it.

This is a not a dock. It doesn't mention that in the title or description and has no HDMI. It's meant to use your Switch screen with controllers. Many of the poor reviews are complaining that it's not a dock when they just didn't look into the device info before ordering it.

Because....they probably don't know that this COULD be connected to the usb c dongle with hdmi port and usb for PD. Do that and voila! A dock as a workaround in theory.I have a spare dongle and I am going to test my theory.

You can charge the Switch with this, plus it has 2 USB ports for accessories. Kinda niche still, but it's more than a stand.

i bought a second dock used from ebay for original switch for the basement TV. it's worked out great. kids like being able to grab it and go to basement if someone is using living room tv.

as for the OP, i cant imagine why anyone would need to charge and play in tabletop mode. it's probably time to take a break from gaming on it if your switch has been off dock so long its dead.

My aforementioned theory...or hypothesis if u will...has yet to be confirmed. Should be interesting.

Any thoughts or experience with this to say whether it would work with the Switch Lite and the Switch 2? The models look exactly the same in screenshots but I am not sure.

Can't you already charge it from its top usb c port though? I thought that was a big reason Nintendo added an extra port on the top.

If you have a DAISO, a Japanese 5Below or Dollar Store near by. The stand that look just like this is like $2 there. Look it up on google maps, they opened up new stores.

They originally made this product for switch 1, before the switch 2 existed with a top USB port, and the OG switch's stand was absolute trash. Great product that solved 2 product deficiencies of the launch switch, the USB A port was a nice bonus if you needed it.

I guess Hori still had some of those sitting around and didn't get the memo about the switch 2 improvements and just went "slap a switch 2 logo on that, someone will probably buy it!" Because this product really doesn't have a purpose anymore unless you really want a USB A port on the go.

A couple people just in this thread don't seem to know you can charge it in tabletop mode without something like this. So I bet they're selling a lot of them to uninformed people.
