I don't know of any heater that is safe to use with any sort of extention cord so I wouldn't advise using this with a heater.

"No surge protection", which qualifies it for use on a cruise ship.

I had to read a bit more to understand what that meant, but "Not knowing how critical an item like this is for a cruise these days can actually make things a lot more complicated on board. With this device things were smooth and easy. It's an item you do not want to leave home without and can work wherever you travel but it's a necessity onboard a ship." - from a review.

Didn't know that was a thing for cruise ships. I have one just by the bed and it works well to expand the power plug options at the wall.

Saw one review saying that they got there's confiscated because it had more than 2 110v plugs on it. Not sure what cruise, but worth looking into.

Does anyone know the electrical load rating of this?

Would it handle a standard floor heater for a grandma who wants to plug in a phone, a lamp and a floor heater? Or would it be too risky?

Yup, I plug my heater into the transformer in my backyard just to be safe

Not on RCL and not all the security agent will accept it because of the 3 prongs. All the newer ships have faster USB ports in the cabin these things are pointless unless you need an extension cord. You're better off getting a GaNIII high wattage charger that can fully charge your phone fast.

you're only better off if you need your phone charged fast, otherwise you're reducing battery lifespan

Fast charging is like caffeine ☕
Great when you need it, not harmful in moderation, but don't mainline it 24/7 if you want maximum battery longevity.

I got this a month ago for the same price. I bought it for the flat plug and rounded style look. There are cheaper options. It seems to work fine.

soooooo you're under the mistaken impression that people have brought power strips onto cruise ships for decades because of something to do with usb charging. gotcha.

anyway; for everyone who isn't you - yes this seems to be a viable choice for an allowable cruise ship power strip.

"fast charging" claim a bit dubious as it doesn't appear to support PD on the USB C ports or QC on the USB A ports. Likely limited to 15 watts charging per device.
