The TX RZ50 stands out as a strong value AVR for smaller to medium rooms, with Dirac Live onboard, guided setup menus, and enough power to drive demanding speakers cleanly. It is praised for clear, cohesive sound, easy calibration, and solid performance at concert levels, with some owners calling it hard to beat near this price. The main tradeoffs are that the extra two channels matter only if you need them, and reliability and retailer handling have raised concerns in a few firsthand reports. A good fit when you want Dirac and 9.2 channel flexibility without stepping up to RZ70 pricing.
Dirac room correction works out of the box and can improve perceived sound cohesion.
Best Buy price matching can be possible in-store when the store has a display model available.
The included calibration mic can be sufficient for app-only Dirac calibration workflows.
The receiver can be expanded for a 7.2.4 setup by adding an external 3-channel amp.
Adorama returns can involve delays and deductions such as a 15% restocking fee for items treated as used.
Open-box shipments can arrive with physical damage such as broken antennas, dents, and missing protective packing.
HDMI behavior can be inconsistent, including trouble with 4K120 versus 4K30 on specific setups.
Reliability can be a concern, since an RZ50 can shut down after warranty with a 2L2R warning.

Not surprising, smart business move on their part.
Wonder how low it will ultimately go by the end of the year.

My guess, once pricing comes out, they won't go as low.
The new models will be pricey & the only real sonic benefit will be Dirac ART, not worth the cost ime.

Audible wise unlikely you would hear any big difference, if at all.

If you don't need 11 channels, the RZ30 for $700 is the better buy ime.

I have this, it is an awesome receiver. Got it at the $750 mark, that briefly showed up on their Ebay store.

I would suggest looking into A1EVO Express.
It basically will give you both Dirac Live and DLBC performance at no cost.
It's the easy iteration to use and does a very good job imo.
