Induction is awesome! We have both an induction range and a separate single burner like this one. I use the separate one to sear steaks after I have smoked them on the back porch. On array or occasion we also travel with it.

The one thing you need to know is that induction only works with magnetic pans. It's easy enough to test. Get one of the magnets off your refrigerator. If it sticks to the bottom of your set of pans, you're good to go. If it doesn't, you'll need to get new pans. In our case, we knew we would need to get new pans, and it was well worth it!

The other thing I've noticed with my Insignia portable induction and my nuwave wok induction is that when they can and will turn off during cooking. I have a hard time stir frying some dishes on both burners. It makes me hesitant to go to a full induction range stove.
