This Pelsee P1 Pro stands out as a budget front and rear dash cam with strong day and night front footage, readable plates, GPS tracking, lane departure alerts, and parking surveillance support. The included hardwire kit can make for a cleaner fuse box install, and the seller has replaced faulty units and sent out replacement rear cables quickly. The main concern is that the advertised 4K appears to be upscaled from IMX675 sensors rather than true native 4K, so storage use and image detail are worth weighing. A solid feature set if you are comfortable with the camera's resolution tradeoff.

Common Questions (3)

  • The code worked for some orders and took about $60 off, including multiple-unit purchases, but it also glitched or stopped working for others. If it fails, retrying may help, but it is not consistently active.

  • Some current Pelsee models use upscaling to produce 4K output rather than native 4K capture. The company says it plans to gradually move to true native 4K models starting in 2026, so this deal should be treated as scaled 4K rather than guaranteed native 4K.

  • The front camera is reported to produce readable license plates in both daytime and nighttime, with the night-vision processing helping visibility. That makes it more useful for hit-and-run evidence than a camera that only records general motion.

What is the point of upscaling to 4K if it capturing at FHD? It uses more storage for no increase in detail.

Probably not. It uses lithium ion batteries to hold its charge. Take my opinion for what you please. I'd get one with supercapacitors. Best for durability, heat resistance, longevity.

The Starvis 2 sensor you want for native 4k, HDR, and excellent night footage would be the IMX678...not the IMX675 that this fake 4k dashcam has. The Pelsee P12 Pro Max is one that has the IMX678 sensor. However, I would never go with a mirror dashcam again like the P12 Pro Max. You have to always be mindful that when the driver adjusts the rearview mirror, the POV of the dashcam front camera changes according to how the mirror is moved. My niece didn't know this and when she got into an accident, there was no usable footage cuz she unknowingly pointed the front lens up towards the ceiling of her car when she adjusted the rearview mirror.

Do a Google search on IMX678 vs IMX675 for more details on their differences.

Is it normal for a dashcam to NOT come with an install kit (ie wiring)??
The install kit is for hardwiring into your fuse box. All dashcams will have wiring to connect to USB.

The problem with 4k 60fps you are asking for, the file size of videos would be huge, and you can't get that kind of clarity from a small camera lens to capture everything smoothly, but my hope is that every car comes with ability to record from rear and front cameras at least.
I had 2 Vantrue E1 pro 4k/30 in front and rear. Was good enough and sometimes i liked it better than 2k/60 viofo.File size isn't a problem. It's still low bit rate. FPS contributes to overheating. Heat killed my cameras. In winter.

Thanks but the dashcam model will require power from the cigarette lighter plug. I need a model designed for usb c since the car doesn't have the cigarette plug.

Appreciate the feedback on the sensors, but who in the world mounts the dashcam on their rear view mirror and not the front windshield??

Not sure if you're being serious or not, but if you are being serious, I think the previous poster meant you could use something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Syntech-Ad.../B07CVX351

or

https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Bas...B01GGKYXVE

but, as others have mentioned, the hardwire kit to connect it to a fuse box, or if your car has a compatible power option near the mirror, it would likely be a much cleaner install.

Users with mirror dashcams like the Pelsee P12 Pro Max. Google what it looks like so you'll know who in the world would mount dashcams on the rearview mirror.
