some of the varieties have significantly higher pricing for the larger bags (per lb) vs the smaller bags
I get my dogs the sensitive stomach version, 30lb bag is $2.80/lb and the 36lb bag is $2.94/lb, so the 30lb bag is a much better deal vs the 36lb
Community Reviews
Hill's Science Diet Small and Mini Adult dry dog food is being highlighted as a strong Subscribe and Save deal when the 45 percent coupon applies, especially on the larger 35 pound and 45 pound bags. The discount can be finicky, though, since it may only work on one item per SKU, and the coupon was clickable in the app after logging in when desktop would not activate it. Pricing also varies sharply by bag size, and the small bags can be poor value compared with larger options. Dry food should be used within about 30 to 45 days after opening.
Common Questions (4)
The coupon may not be clickable on desktop even when the discount is shown. Logging into the Amazon app can make the coupon clickable and apply the 45% off.
No. The extra-big 35 lb and 45 lb bags have the 45% off, while some other sizes can show different pricing or only a small Subscribe & Save savings.
Not always. Some larger bags have a lower per-pound price, such as a 30 lb sensitive stomach bag at $2.80/lb versus $2.94/lb for the 36 lb bag, so the smaller bag can be worse value.
The discount works on one item of each SKU, and the second item in a quantity-2 order does not get the discount. Subscribing to one of each SKU can keep the 45% off active.
